Meet Sheron Edwards

Author/activist & LIFES LENSES GROUP co-owner

Who is Sheron Edwards? I am Sheron Edwards.  I’m from Starkville MS. I have been incarcerated since I was 23 years old.  I am 47 years old.  In 1999, I was arrested for robbery by the State of Mississippi. While I was awaiting trial, I was rearrested  by the feds  based on those charges. It ended with two convictions in both courts.  I was given 20 years in each jurisdiction. From 2000-2017, I completed my fed time, then I was sent to the Mississippi Department of Corrections to serve the second 20-years. How is that possible? The unbelievable  law is called dual sovereignty. This allows both the state and federal courts to manipulate the system. Is it fair? No.

A couple of things can be done to help with my situation: (1), I'm  asking that you sign the petition at the link above. This will keep pressure on my sentencing judge and those with the power to release me. (2), I have written two autobiographies titled, Life's Lenses, parts one and two. The autobiographies help to bring awareness to my excessive sentences and the injustice surrounding my case. Not only are they a great way to help with legal fees, they are self help books that help to overcome alcoholism, depression, and childhood trauma. They are also tools to help prevent our youth from making poor decisions.

Today, I'm  a man who has given back to society in many ways: I have saved the lives of men who have been suicidal, and have helped a lot of men be freed from prison. I am skilled in many areas in the workforce. Plus, I have earned several certifications while incarcerated: Merced Community College, Louisiana Technical College, and Holmes Community College. These college completions are in welding and IT. Some of my certifications, strictly inside of prison are: personal trainer, forestry, victim's awareness, work keys and many more. People, I am a brother, son and a friend who is a productive person with a lot to offer to the free society.

Please continue to bring awareness to the injustice about my case and continue to share my story. I thank you in advance.
